Tauna Ann Garrett

Tauna Ann (Bynum) Garrett, 66, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center. She was born December 30, 1941, in Sikeston, Mo. Tauna worked as a claims representative at CSX Railroad. She retired in 1993. Prior to that, she worked as a legal secretary at Bowers-Harrison-Kent Law Firm. Tauna was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed antiques, gardening and animals, which she would feed when they came to her yard. She was very dedicated to her family and especially her grandchildren. 

Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Thomas Garrett of Evansville; daughters and sons-in-law, Amie and Brian Houchins of Oakland City, Ind., and Jeanie and Robert McFall of Evansville; stepdaughters, Robin Ackerman and Laurie Powell and her husband, Steve, both of Evansville; mother, Elizabeth "Betty" (Culley) Nash; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally Jean and Jim Boyd of Pinckneyville, Patricia and Fred Dowalter of Hemet, Calif., Janet Steeley of Hemet, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Claudia Bynum of Hemet, Calif.; brother-in-law, Jerry and Suzanne Garrett of Newburgh; sister-in-law, Sylvia and Robert Betlock of Hills-boro, Mo.; grandchildren, Ashley Settles, Cameron Houchins, Shelly, Dex and Bree McFall, Brandon, Nick and Sarah Powell, Jamie and Matthew Ackerman; great-grandchild, Leyland Powell; aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Tauna is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Bynum. 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., with Monsignor Kenneth Knapp officiating. Interment was held at Park Lawn Cemetery.
